The Dover Ridge Homeowner’s Board needs YOU. Volunteer to serve as an Officer, Member at Large or Committee Head. By serving you will:
- Help keep Homeowner dues low by keeping the management of the board through volunteers and help ensure funds are spent in the most efficient and effective manner possible.
- Connect with people in your community and know how to serve them better.
- Develop a cohort of friends that are engaged in making positive changes in Dover Ridge.
The Board meets eight times a year for approximately one and a half to two hours. Most meetings are held online. Below is a description of the positions and their responsibilities. Email Doverridgehoanc@gmail.com for more information or to let them know of your willingness to serve.
President:
- Preside at all meetings of BOD
- See that orders and resolutions of Board are carried out
- Sign leases, mortgages, deeds and other written instruments and co-signs all checks and promissory notes
- Act in stead of Vice President if they are unable or refuses to discharge required duties.
- Complete other duties as required by the board
Vice President
- Act in stead of President if the President is unable or refuses to discharge required duties.
- Complete other duties as required by the board
Secretary
- Record votes and keep minutes of all meetings and proceedings of the Board and members
- Keep corporate seal of HOA and affix on papers requiring a seal
- Serve notice of meetings of Board and Members
- Keep records of members of HOA and their addresses
- Perform other duties as required
Treasurer
- Receive and deposit all monies of HOA
- Disperse funds as directed by the Board
- Sign checks, keep accounts
- Ensures an annual audit of books at end of each fiscal year is conducted by a special committee composed of three non-board members of HOA appointed by the President
Information Technology
- Monitors and maintains the Doverridge.com web page
- Facilitates electronic communications and meetings for the Board
- Organizes and uploads digital records (e.g., meeting agendas, minutes)
Members at Large
- Attend Board meetings and vote on Board actions
- Lead or facilitate special committees or initiatives such as the Architecture Review, Welcome, Neighborhood Empathy Program, Neighborhood Watch, Community Events (Easter, Halloween, Christmas, Yard Sales, Picnic)
